Dated his reign to the day before the Battle of Bosworth (22nd August 1485)
This meant that Richard III's supporters were seen as traitors to the king and Henry VII could take action against them, he dated his reign to the 21st of August.
Arranged coronation to October 30th 1485
By arranging his coronation to the week before the first meeting of parliament it showed that he was not going to be dependant on it to make him King.
Acts of Attainder
Acts passed against Henry's enemies and supporters of Richard III. Their land was confiscated meaning Henry's financial situation was strenghthened.
Elizabeth of York
His marriage to Elizabeth of York united the Yorks and Lancaster's as Yorkists would accept Henry as King out of loyalty to Elizabeth.
Use of Propoganda
Purpose of propaganda was to make Richard III look bad and justify Henry's seizure of the throne.
De Facto Act - 1495
Encouraged loyalty to the king, legitimized Henry's position by stating that he was 'In fact' king of England etc.
