Red Blood Cells, White blood cells, plasma, and platelets (thrombocytes)

What is plasma and what are it's contents?
|
It is the fluid in which the rest of whole blood is suspended. It is 90% water and 10% Constituents such as vitamins, carbs, protiens, enzymes, horemones, lipids, ect.

What are the colors of plasma and what do they mean.

straw/clear: Normal
Yellow/orange: Icteric (jaundiced) White: lipemic (fat) Red/pink: Hemolesis (broken red blood cells) |

What is important to remember when you are inverting a blood tube to create a hemogenis mixture?

A type of anticoagulent.
