hallmark: REED-STERNBERG CELL; huge cell, found in BM, tissue, and lymph nodes; too big to be found in circulation; diagnostic for this disease; lymph node based disease; poorer prognosis if nodes involved are on both sides of the diaphragm; prognosis is better if nodes are only on one side

*endemic to africa
* most often strikes the facial bones, especially the jaw
* is an aggressive disease and is rapidly fatal if untreated, however, it is curable

*seen mostly in adults
*usually fatal

B cell subset; lymphoproliferative disorder; will see mononuclear lymphs that have unusual cytoplasmic projections that are hair-like; will cause DRY TAP; TRAP STAIN IS POSITIVE
Hairy Cell Leukemia
many T lymphs are in the skin and they become cancerous and form hideous skin lesions; look like moon craters with black centers; also called mycosis fungoides and sezary's syndrome; most common cutaneous T cell lymphoma; HALLMARKED by abnormal circulating lymphocytes called Sezary cells (size of a small lymph with numerous folds and grooves in the nucleus (brain like) (baby butt)
