What do we mean by latent heat ? |
When u slowly heat a beaker of ice u will notice that the temperature does not rise at first . The temperature remains at 0 degrees Celsius for several mins until the last piece of ice has melted . When u heat a beaker if boiling water you will notice that the temperature does not rise , it remains at 100 degrees Celsius What happens to the heat energy ? Heat can’t just disappear the heat changes the state of the ice and if the boiling waiter . When heat changes a state instead of the a temperature we call it latent heat ! |
