My Daily Routine
I weigh myself every morning after I go to the bathroom, in my night clothes and before I eat
I write my weight on my calendar
I take my medications
What is a "Heart Healthy Diet?"
-I don't add salt to my food in cooking or at the table.
-I eat "red" meats one time a week in small amounts.
-I eat chicken, pork or fish-broiled, baked not fried!
-I use olive oil or a spray instead of butter or other fats.
-I eat 3-4 fruits and 3-4 veggies every day!
Let's get moving!
-In good weather, I walk outside for 15-30 minutes on a flat area every day.
-In bad weather, I get up and walk around the house the length of every commercial on the TV!
Should I call my Doctor today?
YES if:
-I gained ____pounds in 24 hours or ____pounds in 3 days.
-I am more short of breath doing my daily routine or with my walking.
-I have chest pressure, arm or back pain that does not go away.
-I am vomiting and can't take my pills.
Taking care of me!
-I get my Flu shot every year.
-I make and keep my doctor visits.
-I check my skin on my feet and legs every day for bruises or other injuries.
-I stay away from folks with colds and flu.
-I wash my hands very often!
