Public Health

A field that encompasses many disciplines in an effort to promote and protect health and prevent diseases and disability in defined populations and communities.

As opposed to medical, public health focuses on populations and prevention rather than individuals and treatment.

Affecting or tending to affect a disproportionately large number of individuals within a population, community or region at the same time.
