Employers are expected to


Provide buildings, plant and equipment that are in a good state of repair.


Provide good working practices that allow safe activity by workers.


Provide a healthy environment (e.g heating, lighting, ventilation and noise levels)


Provide information and training.

Act responsibly and to do everything they can to prevent injury to themselves and other persons.


Observe all rules, appropriate policies and instructions regarding safety at all times.


Correctly use safety equipment, protective devices and ppe.


Inform their immediate manager of all safety events, damage or potentially dangerous situations whether persons are injured or not.


Assist in the investigation of any safety events as required.


Report to their immediate manager any unsafe or defective plant, tools, equipment, ppe, practices, methods or hazards.


Participate in improving health and safety within the LEFPA by making suggestions on these matters to the manager, supervisor or safety representative.
