How are headlands and bays formed?
Some coasts are made up of rocks with different resistance to erosion.

The less resistant erode faster compared to the more resistant. The different rates of erosion of the rocks along a coast produce an uneven coastline.

The less resistant areas of rocks curve inwards s they get eroded by the waves, forming bays.

The areas made of of more resistant rocks will protrude, forming headlands.
