BASE
Portion of hair shaft, from the scalp to 1" upward; the area of the strand where color is most often applied during a retouch
BASE-TO-ENDS APPLICATION
The technique of applying a color product from the base throughout the ends; generally used during a darker application

COLOR WHEEL
