What two things spurred archaeology?
1. Treasure-hunting a lot of the times led to finding archeological treasures that explained ancient worlds.
2. Literature such as the Bible spurred archeological digs in Egypt and parts of the Near East. Also, ancient mythology led to archeological digs in Greece and other areas.
