When and where did it start?
It started on the 2nd of september 1666 just after midnight in Thomas Farriner's bakery in Pudding Lane.
How long did it go on for?

The houses in those days were made out of wood so they could catch fire easily.

It was very warm and dry at the time of the fire and the wind blew further inland toward St Pauls Cathedral
