How much of Earth's surface is water?

Three fourth 3/4th of the earth's is covered with water.

How much of the earth's surface is land?

One fourth 1/4th of the earth's surface is land.

Where can you find salt water?

Oceans and some Lakes have salt water.

Where can you find almost all of Earth's water?

The oceans hold almost all of the earth's water.

Do people need salty or fresh water?

People need fresh water.

Is the water at the North Pole and South Pole fresh or salty?

This water is fresh water.

What is the body of the water closest to you?

There is no body of water near me.

What are the steps in water cycle?

1. The sun heats liquid water.

2. the water evaporates

3. water vapor raises into the air

4. water vapor condenses or turn into drop of water and crystal of ice.

5. clouds are formed

6. when the water and ice get heavily.

7. they fall out of the air as rain, snow, hail and sleet.

Why don't the rivers lakes and other places run out of water?

The river, lakes and other places don't run out of water because the water cycle fill them again and again

What is water cycle?

Water cycle is how water moves from one place to another in the form of liquid water gas and ice.

What does evaporation mean?

When liquid turns into a gas or water vapour. we call this evaporation.

What does condensation mean?

Condensation is opposite of evaporation. It takes place when water vapor in the air turns into liquid.

How are clouds formed?

When the water condenses it turns into drop of water and crystal of ice. The water and ice form clouds

How does water fall from the sky?

What are faults from the sky as rain, sleet, hail and snow.

Name the three states of water.

Solid, liquid and gas are three states of water.

What is water vapour?

When water turns from liquid to gas is called water vapour.

What happens when a liquid goes through evaporation?

Water changes to gas.

Where might the water of lakes go?

It may evaporate.

What happens to the puddles on the street after it rains?

It evaporate

Why does a puddle disappear?

Because the sun heats the water evaporates.

What is water cycle?

Water cycle is how water moves between Earth and atmosphere and back.

Where do all living things get the water they need?

Plants and animals get water from water cycle.

Explain water cycle.

The sun heats the water in the ocean and on the land. The water changes from Liquid to water vapour, then water vapour cools when it rises into the air. The cooled water vapour changes again to liquid water drops. The liquid water drops from clouds when the clouds gets too heavy, then water falls to earth as precipitation.

Why might rainfall instead of the snow?

Because the temperature is higher when it rains.

What might happen if there were no water cycle?

You might run out of water.

What is groundwater?

Some precipitations goes into ground. The soil and rocks in the ground hold water. This water is called groundwater.

What happens to water when it rains?

Some water goes into a streams, lakes and rivers. Most of the water goes into the ground.

Where is the groundwater?

Groundwater fills the space in rocks and soils underground.

How can we get groundwater?

We dig deep holes to get groundwater.

What are wells?

We dig deep holds to get groundwater. These holes are called wells.

What is bedrock?

Water stays above the bedrocks underground. Bedrock has no space for water to fill.

Why should we conserve water?

Because you might run out of water.

What does conserve mean?

It means to use something carefully.

Could we run out of fresh water?

Yes, we could run out of fresh water if you are not careful.

What are some ways to conserve water?

Turn off water faucet when you are not using it.

Fix water faucets that leak.

What are the lawn and garden only when they need.

Wash only a full load of clothes in the washing machine.

Take a short shower instead of a long shower on bath
