Granache

Originated in aragon spain , other theories predict that it comes from sardina italy. Grape is thin-skinned. Late ripening, high yields, susceptible to fungal diseases and coulure, resistant to drough. It likes hot dry stony soils such as schist, granite. Classic is gallet in chateauneuf-du-pape, and licorella in priorat.

Granache

Visual ruby color slight orange rim , moderate concentration, aromas cook to dry red fruit , strawberries, cherries , raspberries, roasted red plum, fig and raisin. Floral lavander, red flowers, blood orange , herbal herves de provance , black tea, savory herbs, rosemary others grapefruit peel , brettanomysis, old leather, band-aid. Volatile acidity, is common in granache since its very sensitive to oxidation.

Granache

Structure dry, moderate plus to full body , high alcohol, elevated tannins and moderate acidity. Savory well rounded.
