What is a direct democracy?

When all the people came to discuss government matters. It was created in Athens, Greece.

Where the people choose a person or a small group of people to represent them in government. It is used in the United States.

What is a constitutional monarchy?

A government with a ruler from a heredity, but the people elect representatives for them in the government, and these representatives elect a ruler called a prime minister.

What is a democratic regime?

A government where the people get a say in the government.

What is an authoritarian regime?

A government that is ruled by a single person or a small group of people, in which the ruler or rulers does not let the people have a say in the government.

What is totalitarian rule?

Where the government controls most of the people's life. The rulers control media, and use violence and scaring tactics to make people obey their law.

An idea that a ruler has about life and society.

Where the government controls the economy.

What is an oligarchy?

A government where a small group of people holds power. These people get their power because of their wealth.

What is a theocracy?

A government ruled by religious leaders. Religious laws are the basis for the country's laws.
