Going into sixth grade will be a challenge. I think it will be harder, stricter, and have meaner teachers. There will be more than one teacher and more than one class so there will be more homework.
We upcoming sixth graders will have more math, reading, science, and social studies. The thing I like about going into sixth grade is we get to have more gym time (P.E). There is no recess in middle school, so we can’t go on the playground anymore.
In sixth grade you can be on the FCMS football team, basketball team, baseball team, volleyball team, golf team, softball team, cheer team, band and tennis team for boys and girls 6th through 8th. You can also sign up for art, Spanish and cooking class. You also have the option to bring your lunch or buy your lunch.
You will get a locker to put your books, notebooks, and backpack in so you don’t have to carry all of your books around with you. You are supposed to be in class at seven thirty. You have five minutes to move from class to class or your considered tardy.
We get out of school at 2:00 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays. We will get out at 1:00 on Wednesdays. There are gold and blue days. We will also get to see people there from different schools, for an example we will see people from Julington Creek Elementary School.
There are two football fields and two basketball courts, one of the basketball courts is inside and the other is outside. There is also a soccer field for the soccer team. There may be someone you know in your class and there might be somebody you don’t know.
You are most likely not going to be able to pick who you sit next to or where you sit in your class. You need to watch out for Dean Cole because you might get sent to his office and get suspended.
Sixth grade in all sounds exciting but it will be a lot of work. I am ready for the challenge that sixth grade will bring me.
