Alliteration |

Clause |
Structural element of a sentence consisting of a grammatical subject and a predicate. An Independent Clause is technically a complete sentence. A subordinate clause cannot stand on its own. Another way to name these clauses is "independent" and "dependent" |

Diction |
Is a choice of words. When analyzing we always put an adjective before we use the word "diction." For example you might write, "Smith attempts to persuade her audience by using formal diction..." |

Voice |
Active and Passive- Active Voice uses a subject, verb, object structure. Passive Voice has a missing or buried subject. |
