- then condensation occurs which is the proccess by whcich water vapor changes from a gas to a liquid.
What do you see condensation as?
Fog,clouds, dew, or frost.
What are the four common forms of percipitation?
rain, snow, sleet, and hail.
What happens when you get higher above sea level?
the temperature decreases.
Whats the orographic effect?
when moist air pushes on mountains then the barrirer forces air to rise and then it condenses.
What can storms cause?
high winds, terbulant seas, lightning, blowing snow, flood.
What is remembered as a middle lattitude storm?
cyclones.
What do middle lattitude storms cause alot?
tornadoes.

- Can go up to 155 mph.
- worse than tropical cyclones

- hurricanes in the western pacific

What happens when Sun reahces the earth?
About half is reflected back into space or absorbedby the atmosphere. Earths surface absorbs the other half which converts to heat and causes temperature.
What is the greenhouse effect?
Earths atmosphere allows much sun light to pass through. Earths air then slows at the rate at which the heat escapes into space.
What occurs global warming?
human activities like burning coals, gases, and oils.
What happens when air is heated?
it expands, becomes less dence, and rises.
Wheather conditions with low pressure?
Cyclones
What happens when air is cold?
it is dense
What are four air pressure zones?
equalateral low, subtropical highs, the subpolar lows, and the polar highs.
What are prevailing winds?
Winds that blow from the same direction.
What are doldrums?
THe zone along the equator with no prevailing winds.
What are westerlies?
prevailing winds in the middle lattitudes.
Whats a front?
when two air masses of widely different temperatures meet.
What the Gulf Stream?
a warm current along the U.S east coat.
