Cratering effect.
When a window is struck, small particles of glass as blown away on the opposite side of the force. The crater will be smaller on the entry side and is independent of the diameter of the projectile.
Radial lines.
Fractures emanate from the point of impact, radiating outward. The are initiated on the side away from the compressive force.
Rib marks.
Stress fractures located on the edge of broken glass segments. They curve towards the impact.
Concentric lines.
Circular fractures going from radial line to line. They originate on the side of the compressive force.
Sequence of shots.
A fracture will normally never cross over a previous fracture.
