High-pitched tinkling noise heard on auscultation. What do we expect to see on imaging? What is a likely cause of this pts symptoms?
Bowel Obstruction

See Air fluid levels and "stair step" pattern as well as dilated loops of bowel

Risk factors for small bowel obstructions: Post-op adhesions, tumor, hernia
"Pain out of proportion to PE". Hematochezia. What do we expect to see on lab values?
Ischemia

Acidosis (lactic acidosis) and Leukocytosis

Imaging = CT, X-ray
Smoker, Drinker, GERD, NSAID use, Aspirin, H. pylori (From johnson: Cushing = head injury, Curling = Burns). What will we see on x-ray?
Ulcer (that's perforated)

Pneumoperitoneum
Female, Fertile, Forty, Fat-Ass. Imaging? (normal labs, pain resolves)
Gallstones, Cholelithiasis

Ultrasound then x-ray
RUQ pain with inc. LFTs and Hyperbilirubinemia (conjugated bili). Imaging? Afebrile, Jaundice, Persistent pain, Inc. LFTs, Bilirubinemia
Choledolithiasis

ERCP, MRCP
Ejection fraction less than 35%, Ultrasound shows no stones, +or- RUQ pain Imaging? Normal labs, pain resolves
