Transversal
When two lines are intersected by a third, the third is called a transversal. They must intersect at two different points, not all converging at one point.
Parallel lines
Parallel lines do not intersect, no matter how far extended in either direction, in the same plane.
Two lines intersected by the same transversal are parallel IF:
1. The interior angles on the same side are supplementary
2. Alternate interior angles are equal
3. Corresponding angles are equal.
THEOREM 44
The sum of the angles of a triangle is equal to two right angles
THEOREM 44b
The sum of the interior angles of a convex polygon is equal to two less than the number of sides times two right angles.
