Line

a straight continuous arrangement of infinitely many points

Plane

a flat surface that goes on forever

Collinear

on the same line

Coplanar

on the same plane

Congruent Segments

segments with the same measure or length

Midpoint

a point that evenly divides a segment in half

Bisects

divides into two equal parts

Angle

2 rays that share a common endpoint

Vertex

a common endpoint of 2 rays

Congruent angles

angles that have the same measure

Angle bisector

a ray that begins at the vertex and divides the angle in half

Complementary angles

angles that add up to 90 degrees

Supplementary angles

angles that add up to 180 degrees

Polygon

a closed figure with no curves

Vertex

each endpoint where the sides meet

Convex polygon

a polygon that has no diagonals on the outside of it

Concave polygon

a polygon that has at least one diagonal on the outside of it

Congruent polygon

polygons that are exactly the same size and shape

Equilateral polygon

a polygon with all the sides the same length

Equiangular polygon

a polygon with all the angles the same measure

Regular polygon

a polygon with all sides the same length and all angles the same measure

Trapezoid

a quadrilateral with one set of parallel sides

Parallelogram

a quadrilateral with 2 sets of parallel sides

Rhombus

a quadrilateral with all side lengths the same and 2 sets of parallel sides

Rectangle

a quadrilateral with four 90 degree angles and 2 sets of parallel sides

Square

a rectangle with all side lengths the same

Radius

a segment from the center to a point on the edge of a circle

Diameter

a line segment that goes through the center whose endpoints are on the edge of the circle.

Congruent circles

circles that share the same radius.

Concentric circles

circles that are on the same plane and share the same center

Semicircle

an arc that has the same endpoints as a diameter.

Minor arc

an arc that is smaller than a semicircle.

Major arc

an arc that is bigger than a semicircle.

Vertical angles

the pair of angles that are directly opposite each other when two lines intersect

Linear pair of angles

two angles that are adjacent (share a leg) and supplementary

Kite

a quadrilateral that has two different pairs of equal adjacent sides
