Archipelago
A group, cluster, or string of islands such as Indonesia (the world's biggest
Atoll
A ring (or partial ring) of coral that forms an island or partial island in an ocean or sea.
Basin
A land drained by a river: land surrounded by higher land. In some cases a basin has a lake that has no outlet to the ocean.
Bay
An inlet of the sea or other body of water, usually smaller than a gulf, but of the same general character. Good for tourists and boats. Part of a body of water that extends into land
Canal
An artificial waterway usually constructed for irrigation or navigation. Man Made.
Canyon
A narrow valley with high, steep sides, usually created by the erosion of a river

A point/extension of land jutting into the water that is usually smaller or thinner than a peninsula. A great place for a lighthouse.
Channel
A body of water that connects two larger bodies of water (same as a strait, only larger) different than a canal because a canal is man made and a channel is not.
Coral reefs
are aragonite structures produced by living organisms, found in marine waters containing few nutrients.
Delta
A drainage basin for water that is making its way back to the ocean or large body of water. It is water being forced by gravity from higher ground to sea level.
