Bob is wealthy because his parents are billionaires.

poverty

(n) When somebody doesn't have much money.




Some people in Africa are living in poverty because they are not rich.

developing nation

(n) A nation where the average income is much lower than in industrial nations, where the economy relies on a few export crops, and where farming is conducted by primitive methods. In many developing nations, rapid population growth threatens the supply of food. Developing nations have also been called underdeveloped nations. Most of them are in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.




I am happy that I don't live in a developing nation, because then I might be very poor.

I work in a water treatment facility, which means I help clean water for people to drink.

Water Meter

(n) measures the amount of water coming into your house/business.




My company has a water meter that measures all the water coming into the company.

Hydrologic

(n) the continuous cycle in which water evaporates, travels into the air and becomes part of a cloud, falls down to earth as precipitation, and then evaporates again, and the whole process starts over.




Since the cycle never ends, we could be drinking water that dinosaurs drank.
