What is a bacteriophage?
A bacteriophage is a parasitic virus that infects bacteria.
What is conjugation?
Conjugation is when one bacterial cell contacts another cell and directly transfers its DNA into that cell. (Done through direct contact)
What is tranformation?
Transformation- when a bacterial cell acquires a piece of DNA from the environment incorporates the DNA into its own chromosome.
What is transduction?
When a bacteriophage picks up bacterial DNA and then infects another bacterial cell, and in the process injects the infected cell with the DNA. It then gets incorporated into the chromosome.
