'Favrot Criteria' for Canine Atopic Dermatitis

Must have at least 5


- Indoor dog


- Changes appear on the face


- Inflammation of the legs, especially on the front legs


- Otitis externa but doesn't have changes on the ear margins


- No changes on the lumbosacral region (typical for fleas)


- Changes appear for the first time when the animal is less than 3yrs


- Steroid reaction - to differentiate from food allergy

How long to treat superficial pyoderma / folliculitis / deep pyoderma for?


Superficial - Treat for 7 days longer than when the symptoms disappear



Deep - Treat for 14 days longer than when the symptoms disappear
