What are genes?

A gene is a length of DNA that controls the your characteristics such as eye and hair colour.

Where are genes found?

Genes are in the form of chromosomes a gene is a short length of a chromosome.

How many chromosomes are in the nucleus?

Each cell nucleus contains 46 chromosomes which are 23 pairs.

What are alleles?

Different versions of the same gene ie. A brown eyed gene or a blue eyed gene.
