אַחַר
adv. of place. behind, beyond

preposition. behind (something or someone), after (something or someone, a time period or event).

‏Futato lists "west" as a gloss, but there are many words for west of which אַחַר is not a direct gloss, but rather ‏‏אַחֲרֵי (Ju 18:12, Jos 8:2). Other words for west are יָם, אָחוֹר, ‏מַעֲרָב.
