How do Freud and Jung address eachother in letters? |
Jung addresses Freud as Professor, Freud addresses Jung as friend, dear friend, heir |

Why does Freud want Jung to continue the study of sexuality? |
he wanted them to propagate the existance of his own ideas. He didn't want them to have his own thoughts. |

How did Jung go forward past Freud? |
started making his own ideas, presentations. stopped preaching the oeidipus complex. he recognized freuds progress but didn't stay true to the dogma freud wanted. they parted in 1914 after increasingly acrimonious and accusatory correspondence |

Why did they part? |
freud was not secure enough to accept that psychoanalysis would change, morph, evolve.

How did freud handle the divorce? |
he became more dinamic. drew around him a small number of psychoanalysis that would toe the line, be his comittee. |

How did Jung handle the life after Freud? |
Spent the remainder of his long life in a hous on Lake Zurich. Creative Illness until 1919 Jung essentially became insane for a few years afterwards-- decomponsated, didn't function very well and stayed in a near psychosis. "creative illness" Had wealthy international clientele and his own psychological association. people would come from America to be treated by Jung. more prolific, collected works total over 20 volumes had 5 kids with wife emma and a mistress, Toni, who lived with them. |

introverts turn theier attention and libido inward, to thoughts and inner states extroverts direct theier energy and attention outward to people and experiences in the world Jung attributed his split with Freud to difference in type two types are so fundamentally different they do not often understand each other. |
