Definite articles
le / la / l' / les - used as the equivalent of 'the' in English or to talk about people or things in general
Indefinite articles
un / une / des - used for countable nouns, becomes de or d' in negative or expressions of quantity
Partitive articles
du / de la / de l' - used for mass nouns, becomes de or d' in negative or expressions of quantity
The pronoun en
replaces a noun preceded by a number, partitative article or indefinite article, placed before the verb, used as the equivalent of 'some' or 'any'
