What is a Vocational resident?
|
A person living legally in the UK, from any other country - whether it be the EU, a designated country or elsewhere for the purpose of providing or receiving a special skill (ie working or studying)

What is a Vocational Licence?
|
It allows a person to drive a mini-bus, bus or medium sized vehicles (those over 3.5 tonnes).

EU Vocational Resident requirements part one
|
provided the licence remains valid, any lorry, minibus or bus until aged 45 or for 5 years agter becoming resident, whichever is the longer period (if aged over 45 but under 65, until after their 66th birthday or for 5 years after becoming resident, whichever is the shorter perod.

EU Vocational Resident requirements part two
|
If aged 65 or over, for 12 months after becoming resident. fter this period the person would be required to apply for a British licence.

A European Community Vocational licence holder must register their details with whom?
|
The DVLA. Failure to do so is an offence.

Vocational Residents from Designated Countries Requirements
|
They may only drive a vehicle registered outside the UK and driven into the UK by them (eg a Japanese holiday tour bus)

Only Exception for Vocational Residents from Designated Countries Requirements
|
If the person is the holder of a Gibraltan licence, they can also drive large vehciels or buses registered in the UK
|
|
Requuirements for Vocational Residents from other countries not including EU or Designated countries
|
Vocational residents from other countries may only drive a vehciel registered outside the UK and driven into the UK by them
