speed

How fast an object’s position changes with time at any given moment. It is the rate of motion

If there were no forces, such as friction or drag, an object in motion (Newton’s First Law) could travel forever in a straight line, objects in space do that..on Earth, friction and drag often act as un unbalance force to bring objects to rest, thus changing the force.

-(Newton’s Second Law) think of two boats: using more rowers in one boat will increase the force and increase acceleration. However, if you just add extra people and they are not rowing, you are just adding/increasing mass and that will decrease acceleration.

measurement of speed and direction of a moving object. (example: how fast and how far)

smooth surfaces usually have less friction than rough surfaces. (example: for a slide to be fast, the surface must be very slippery).

is the measure of how much exposed area any two- or three-dimensional object has.

lubrication
|
A substance, such as grease or oil that reduces friction when applied as a surface coating to moving parts.
