"Life is meaningless unless you give meaning to it." He and Camus shared this idea. Sartre's version of existentialism is "existence precedes essence," which means the choices that we make determine who we are. According to Sartre, "Man is condemned to be free," meaning that freedom is a burdening responsibility. "alienation and commitment" = It's up to us to make our own decisions and commit ourselves to finding our own nature, while making the best choices possible. |
