An epic story about the obstacles he faced in his journey to become a successful stock broker. The movie begins in San Francisco, California, 1981; Chris just moved in with his wife and young son, Christopher. The first chapter of the movie starts with Chris purchasing enough bone density scanning devices to deplete his entire life savings. The original thought was that this high profile device would eventually replace the X-Ray machine by providing better imaging. However, the end result was that a bone density scanner was a complex luxury item and considered over-priced. Factors which made this medical equipment extremely difficult to sell and the root of all the problems Chris would come to face.Money, or lack of money, played a huge factor in how the story unraveled. All the complexities of selling his bone density scanners created significant shortcomings in his income. The lack of money would eventually lead his wife to work multiple shifts to cover all there expenses, adding pressure and financial shortcomings which led to difficult struggles between Chris and his wife. With the addition of caring for his son, Christopher, the stress would eventually be too much for his wife to handle. Several scenes throughout the movie portray how difficult there financial situation became; such as the scene that shows a car, which belonged to Chris, with loads of parking tickets on the window getting towed away to the impoundEnroute to a potential sale, Chris comes across a Ferrari which pulls up to the curb. As the man comes out of his car, he asks “What do you do, and how do you do it?” This man tells him that he is a stock broker, and all you need is people skills and be good with numbers. This moment in his life brings up the realization that Chris can actually be happy by chasing this dream because the man he saw looked very happy and Chris
