first degree- reddened skin (sunburns)


second degree- blisters (most painful burn)


third degree- charred skin and full thickness burn

heat inuries

heat cramps- cramps from excessive sweating and drinking cold drinks fast.


heat exhaustion- caused by working in excessive heat environments, treat as if in shock.


heat stroke- 20 percent mortality rate with 105 F. Do not give hot drinks

water sanitation- Iodine tablets
