Ottoman Constitution

1876 to 1878; Sultan Abdul Hamid II suspends it reinstates it 1908 created in aftermath of State bankruptcy Russo Turkish War 1877.

Kaiser willhelm 2

Made visits to ottoman allies; his military officers were active in ottoman lands; reason for ottomans joining central entente.

Berlin-to-Baghdad Railway:

Germany increased relations with Ottoman Empire; a railway to make trade easier; threatens British prospects in India due to connection to Persian gulf; partially built, but unfinished.

Mesopotamia(Iraq)

Invaded by British officer Indian army in 1914. Ottoman armies defeat British at kuttawa Amara in 1915. British occupied Baghdad 1917.

Majilis(parliament)

Formed in 1906 during Iranian constitutional Revolution. Suspended by Qajar Shah. Reinstated under last Qajar shah but in much weekend form.

Egyptian revolution of 1919
