What is a fable?
A fable is usually brief and has a moral. Also, often uses animals as characters.
What is a parable?
A parable is similar to a fable in that it has a moral but, usually uses more realistic characters like humans.
What is a tale?
Can be the same as a "story."
What is exposition?
Exposition is the story's first incident and the introduction to the characters and settings.
What is in medias res?
The term is used to describe the common strategy of beginning a story in the middle of the action. In this type of plot we enter the story on some important moment.
What is first person?
When the narrator uses "I, we and our" and is a major or minor participant in the action.
What is omniscient point of view?
Seeing into the minds of all characters.
What is objective point of view?
An objective point of view employs a third person narrator who does not see into the mind of any character.
What is foreshadowing?
The introduction early in a story of verbal and dramatic hints that suggest what is to come later.
What is a protagonist?
The central character who engages in readers interest and empathy.
