Histo essenstially as in cats and dogs: - eosinophils, fewer neutr.,hist., mast., lymph, plasm. - collagen degeneration - mucosal hyperplasia 1. eosinophilic (core of coagulated eosinophilic debris; zone of viable and degranulated eosinophils; zone of macrophages and multinucleate cells) 2. collagenolytic (core of degenerative collagen delineated by eosinophils ["flame figure"], outer zone of macrophages and multinucleate cells) |
