Abnormality in the structure or function of various organ systems. A disease is the pattern of the bodies response to some form of injury that causes a deviation from or variation of normal conditions
Pathogenesis
The origin of the disease
Lesion
Disruption in the normal cellular structure
Sign
A visual or objective demonstration of a disease ie; a runny nose
Symptom
Acute/Chronic
Acute- sudden onset and short lived.
Chronic- Ongoing, slow to present and long lasting.
Syndrome
A group of signs and symptoms that characterize a specific disease process or abnormal disturbance.
Etiology
The cause of the signs and symptoms. ie; the etiology of a cold is a virus.
Manifestation
Observed changes throughout the course of the disease.
Test
A sampling of a specimen to send for analysis
Procedure
Manipulation of the body

Expected or predicted outcome.
Diagnosis
What the disease is based on. A thorough knowledge based on results of exams, tests and examining the patient. Giving the disease a name.
Degenerative
Breaking down or distroys the structure of parts of the body.

Disturbances in the normal physiological function involving hormones, chemicals, electrolytes involved in the normal metabolism.
Traumatic
Can be mechanical, ionizing or environmental forces
