Therapeutic Effects:
*Ultrashort acting, short duration drug that provides deep CNS sedation, muscle relaxation, and some anterograde amnesia
*Believed to decrease the activity of the RSA (Reticular Activating System) in the brainstem

*Conscious sedation prior to uncomfortable procedures
*Sedation-Assisted Intubation (SAI)

Hypersensitivity to the drug
