Non-depolarizing neuromuscluar blocking agent-competitively inhibits binding to cholinergic recepotrs at the motor end plate.

Potential sequela to strep equi infection or vaccination:
Purpura hemorrhagica: is a type III hypersensitivity resulting in immune complex deposition in blood vessels and vasculitis. common findings include anemia, hyperprotenemia, hyperfibrinogenemia, hyperglobulinemia and neutrophilia. Clin signs include urticaria, edema of extremities, petechiation of mm and stiff gait.
NOT associated with prolonged PT/PTT, or thrombocytopenia.

Vesicular stomatitis. Affects pigs, cattle, and horses. High morbidity, low mortality. Appears every 7-10 years in the southwestern US. yearly outbreaks in southern Mexico and South America. Black flies and midges appear to vector. Affected premises should be quarantined.
Mare in anestrus 2 mo into breeding season. Rectal reveals folicles in both ovaries.
Persistent CL. Progesterone made by the CL prevents estrus. Horse may ovulate, but is not receptive to stallions. CL not usually palpable.
