what do oxidoreductases do

catalyze transfer of hydrogen atoms and electrons (eg: lactate dehydrogenase)

what do transferases do?

catalyze transfer of functional groups from donors to acceptors (eg alanine aminotransferase)

what do lyases do?

catalyze cleavage of c-c, c-o or c-n bonds

addition of groups to double bonds or formation of double bonds by removal of groups (eg ATP citrate lyase)

What do hydrolases do?

catalyze cleavage of bonds by adding water (eg trypsin)

What do isomerases do?

Catalyze transfer of functional groups within the same molecule (eg phosphoglucose isomerase)

what do ligases do?

use ATP to catalyze the formation of new covalent bonds (eg DNA ligase)
