Comma splice- occurs when two or more independent clauses follow one another with only a comma in between. Ex: Ellis is best know for his poetry, also wrote several a plays. Fused sentence occurs when two or more independent clauses follow one another with no punctuation in between. Ex: They cancelled the class for three days they were unable to be reached. |
