The Research Paper will be a longer version of your position paper, just expanded with outside sources. The research proposal and outline let the reader know your topic, research question, and how you plan to expand your position paper. The research outline provides a road map of your ideas for the research paper, including your thesis, organization, and major ideas.

ENGL 135 Week 5 Annotated Bibliography |
The annotated bibliography is a very useful research tool in that it summarizes the information found in each of your research paper sources, and relates how the source will connect to ideas in your paper. Be sure to review the section “Developing an Annotated Bibliography” (pp. 472-474) of our textbook before writing your bibliography. In Doc Sharing, you’ll also find the document format for the annotated bibliography. You may find that other sources will be added to your list, but at this point in your research process, you should have at least five sources to include in your bibliography |

The first draft of the research paper is due at the end of Week 6 to the Dropbox. It should be 3-4 pages and is worth 60 points.

Your teacher will assign you to a peer review team. Complete the second draft of your paper and post it to your team Discussion board for peer review as directed. An additional 3-4 pages should be added to your draft from last week. You will peer review two classmates’ second drafts, and your peer reviews are due at the end of the week to the same thread. This week, you are required to submit a PowerPoint presentation with Speaker Notes of your final paper. |
