No, not really, it just controls the symptoms. Scaring moxa has been reported to be more effective. The use scaring moxa and surround the psoriasis patch. Dead sea mud soak every year or several months helped ZZ pt.

Wind-heat invations (starts on wei level->qi level [high fever, sweating, pulse…),-> ying (psycho-e like irritable) -> xue (loss of consciousness] usu as acupuncturists we see pt at wei level

What is Phalen's test?
It's a test for Carpel Tunnel syndrome and is performed by asking the pt to hold their wrist in maximum flexion. The test is positive if the protion of the thumb and finger that are innervated by the meidian nerve becomes numb.
Does heat lamp work well for carpal tunnel?
Yes, helps blood circulation and to reduce edema that relieves the pressure on the nerve. Could also use heating pads at home and do self-massage. Moxa not really indicated here.
Which other points should be used with carpal tunnel?
LI4 and LI5 (this is b/c even though the pain is on PC channel, these are good to circulate qi and blood)
What liquid can be used to stop pain for carpal tunnel and what is the protocol?
1) CNT, 2) Insert Needle, 3) Spray Zheng Gu Shui on the area or use cotton ball around the points, 4) heat lamp around that area - 20-30 minutes with 5) manipulating to get qi senstation again. 6) After you take out the needle to a little bit of massage. 80-90% of pt will get much better. If pain is more than 2 years then ask them to come back (1st tx will be pain free for 3-4d).

Which points can be massaged for acute blood stasis for chest and heart pain?
PC4 and PC6 massage daily; note these points will feel painful when they massage by themselves. Gentle massage at first, stronger and then gentle. At least 2-3 minutes but 5 minutes are better.
What are the 2 groups of ghost points and what's the differentiation?
Sun Si Maio has not PC5 but does have PC8: Xu Qiu Fu has LV2 and GB34 (more LV related points, which is what ZZ sees more often in clinic)

PC6, they also have braclets that they can use to put around and slap it back. Can also combine with ST36 (or Ren12 but pt will be nervous in 1st trimester so you can avoid). ZZ uses deeper needling on PC6 and Qi senstation. She also uses ear tacks and pt can self massage.
What is the BEST point in the clinic to use for ANY KIND OF HT symptoms?
PC6 ZZ's classmate did her doctorate on using just PC6 with strong stimulation to treat angina pectoralis; used the reducing technique (along the channel to the chest area->needle pointing toward the elbow). Pt that mention the Qi senstation goes to the chest will generally notice an immediate relief in chest oppression and it feels like it is open). If Pt reports that there is feeling radiating toward the hand, she will block it with her hand so it goes in the right direction.
What is the pathway of Yin Wei?
Medial leg (KI9) -> thigh ->Ab (SP-c SP13, SP15, SP16, LIV14) -> Chest -> meet Ren (Ren22, Ren23)
