What are the 2 tpyes of glands in the edocrine system?
1.Exocrine- contains ducts-secretes onto lamen of organs
2.Endocrine-ductless- secretes hormones into the blood
What are hormones?
chemicals secreted by cells or endocrine glands that regulate various aspects of metabolism & body activities.

What does Endocrinology mean?
the study of the endocrine system disorders.
What are the 3 catagories of stimuli that activates the Endocrine system?
1.Hormonal stimulus- most common endocrine organs stimulated by other hormones.
2.Humoral stimulus- change in blood levels of ions or molecules. stimulate hormone release. Insulin- BLOOD SUGAR
3.Neural stimulus- nerve fibers stimulate hormone release- adrenaline
