Scope of practice |

DEFINE:Abandonment
|
when care is discontinued without patient's consent and without ensuring that care is being continued at the same or higher level. Once u begin care-cannot stop.

What situations can you 'abandon' a patient?
|
1- relinquish care to higher or equal qualifications
2- transport patient to a higher care facility 3-personal safety is threatened 4-patient no longer needs or wants care |
