Pneumothorax
short of breath(dyspnea), Pleuralatic chest pain, Diminished breath sounds on one or both sides,JVD Cyanosis, Hypotension, tachycardia, Penetrating trauma in the respiratory area or spontaneous collapse
Cystic Fibrosis
Child's symptoms sinus congestion to wheezing and asthma like complaints, Chronic cough that produces thick heavy discolored mucus. Dyspnea
Adults are predisposed to arthritis, osteoporosis, diabetes and liver problems
Emphysema
Thin, barrel chest, “Puffing”(pursed lips), Wheezing.
Vitals: Slower Pulse, Hyperventilation, Normal Blood Pressure
Chronic bronchitis
May be obese, Use accessory muscles to breath, Difficulty expiration, often cyanotic, Rhonchi Wheezing Rales, Cough, EXCESSIVE MUCUS
Pulmonary Edema
Dyspnea, rapid shallow respirations, frothy pink sputem. Rhonchi, Wheezing Rales, Cyanotic, inability to lie flat, Paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea, often caused by CHF
Pneumonia
Chills, Fever, Cough, Dark Sputum, Rales, Rhonchi, Wheezes
Congestive Heart Failure
Dependent Edema, Anxiety, Inability to lie flat, Ashen or Cyanotic, Distended Neck Veins, Pink Frothy Sputum
Vitals: Normal-High BP, Increased Respiratory Rate, Increased Pulse Rate.
Cardiogenic Shock
Low blood pressure, Shortness of breath, weak, irregular pulse, cyanosis, anxiety and nausea
