Acetaminophen/Tylenol
Action: Analgesic and Antifever

Indications: Relief of mild pain or fever, headache, and muscle aches

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity
Routes: PO

Side Effects: Allergic Reaction

Interactions: Caution must be taken when EMTs are administering acetaminophen to avoid potential overdosing. Many OTC meds contain acetaminophen

Adult Dose: 500 to 1,000 mg every 4 hours as needed; dose is weight based for children

Administration Concerns: Weigh of child is more important than age.
