Australasian Triage System 1


Immediate threat to life


- MI, RR <10, GCS <9, SBP <80 mmHg


- ongoing seizures

ATS 2

10 Minutes - immediate threat to life in 10 mins OR 10 min delay will result in change in treatment outcome


- cardiac chest pain


- BGL <3, GCS <13


- symptoms of a stroke - dysphasia, hemiparesis, onset within 2 hours


- Symptoms of AAA, ectopic pregnancy or PE


- Corrosive substance in eye


- suspected meningococcaemia (blood infection)


- severe trauma


- fever with lethargy

ATS 3

30 minutes


- abdominal pain


- SpO2 90-95%, BGL >16 mmol


- uncomplicated seizure


- Moderate blood loss or SOB


- Head injury with LOC

60 minutes
