1. What is the LMP? Take a menstrual history


2. When was the unprotected sex performed?


3. Relevant PmHx to screen for contraindications to the various methods of contraceptions


4. Assess risk of STDs (promiscuity etc)

What should the patients be counselled on before therapy?

1. possibility of failure


2. possible side effects involved


3. Possibility of ectopic pregnancy, so must come back for urine pregnancy test

  • 2 tablets of 50ug EE + 500 ug Norgestrel, repeat 12 hours later

  • SE: nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness
